Bio

Nalani (class of 2024) is a Psychology and Media Studies double-major from Northern Virginia. What she loves most about Hoos Connected is forming relationships with peers she may not have otherwise connected with. She says “we tend to write off a lot of people who we think are different from us, but opportunities to connect on a deeper level show us that we might actually have a lot more in common than we thought! It’s amazing to see unlikely friendships form in this beautiful way.” As a facilitator, she is excited to help her group members form these types of connections and watch them grow into truly meaningful relationships. She recalls how much joining Hoos Connected as a second year helped her find a community at UVA and wishes the same for others. Outside of Hoos Connected, she is also a Children’s Book Author! In addition to writing, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to concerts, and traveling!
